I recently started back working out to improve my health. As I was walking, I remembered this devotion I had written in 2014. As I was walking, I realized tha not only do I need to work on my phyical fitness daily, but daily I need to work on spiritual fitness to grow closer to God. Therefore, I decided to do a repost this week.
Hebrews 12:12-13 12 Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13 “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed (NIV). We, as Americans, spend millions of dollars to become physically fit. We join expensive gyms, fitness centers; retain personal trainers and dieticians, and commit to a personal plan to become physically fit. Many people even invest money in cosmetic surgeries to enhance their physical features. We spend hours and hours trying to lose weight to look perfect. However, how much are we investing to become Spiritual Fit? Are we tithing? Are we attending Bible Study? Are we attending Prayer Service? Have we souled out to God just like we have souled out to become physically fit? Do we meditate and spend time with God? Do we have a relationship with God? Being physically fit is great, but being spiritually fit is amazing. God’s amazing grace will set you free from the chains of sins and diabolical attacks that come against you. Being spiritual fit will allow you stand against the wiles of the enemy (Ephesians 6:11). If you want to become spiritually fit, develop a relationship with God and watch the amazing things God will do in your life. Here are a few suggestions to become Spiritually Fit:
I thank you for being an AWESOME God. I strive daily to walk closer with You. God, create in me a clean heart and transform me to be Spiritually Fit to stand firm against any attack the enemy tries to throw at me. I claim dominion and authority in Your name over any assignment that tries to frustrate me. I thank You God. In Jesus name, Amen! ©2016 by Edwina Perrin. All rights reserved. |
