2 Chronicles 20:22
22As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated (NIV). We all have heard of the phrase “Concealed Weapon” one time or another. Due to the increase rate in crime, many people have decided to apply for a permit to carry a “Concealed Weapon”. The word concealed means to hide or to keep secret. However, today I write this devotion to inform you about an “Unconcealed Weapon” called Praise. In 2 Chronicles, God had guaranteed the Israelites triumph against their adversaries. God told them not to fear, because he would fight their battle for them. He gave the Israelites specific instructions to stand still. King Jehoshaphat bowed his faced down to worship the Lord and then the Levites of the children Kohathites and Korahites begin to sing with loud voices. They arose early in the hours and began to sing and praise the Lord. As they begin to sing, the enemies became confused and begin to turn on each other until they were all destroyed. As a result of them praising God openly, the Israelites walked away with all the spoils that was left behind. Praising God does not have to be concealed. Your praises will allow God to show up and show out on your behalf just as he did for the Israelites. When we stand still and follow God’s instructions, he will fight our battle for us. Your praise is an “Unconcealed Weapon”. Use it so God can get the glory! You do not have to hide your praise. God wants us to “Shout a Joyful Noise Unto Him”! When the adversary comes against you, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. God will destroy your adversaries for you. God is Jehovah Nissi! He is God all by Himself! Dear God, Thank you for being the Almighty One! God, I surrender all of my battles to you. In Jesus’s Name, Amen! ©2014 by Edwina Perrin. All rights reserved. |
