![]() Mark 1:17-18 17 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 18 At once they left their nets and followed him. Jesus calls the fishermen to follow Him on the road. The challenge was not just to leave stability and a steady income, but to leave family behind as they followed Jesus. If you read verse 2o, you will read about James and John leaving their father with “hired” help to run the family business. When the disciples left their “comfort zone” they demonstrated that wealth, identity, or status was not worth the relationship they have with Jesus. The devotion title is “Are you a fan or a follower of Jesus?” Are you a fan when everything is going good and your children are doing well, but when trouble comes you lose your faith? Are you a fan when the worship music is playing and everyone is praising/worshipping, but as soon as the music stop your praise stop? Are you a follower of Jesus even when trouble arises and you continue to trust Him? During those trials, You trust Him when you can’t trace Him. Father, I am a follower because You know the plans You have for me! Amen Reflection Misery brings Ministry Trials brings Triumphs Test brings Testimonies © 2016 Edwina D. Perrin.
