![]() Heavenly Father, You are the lifter of my soul. Whenever, I need a friend, You are there. When trials and tribulation come, I look to the hills which cometh my help. When this journey becomes weary, I look to You. When I am weak, You are strong. You for my strength. God, I trust You and depend on You to be the lifter of my soul. Because You reign, I will lift my head no matter what I may be facing. You are the Sovereign One! You are the First and the Last; Alpha and Omega! Therefore, I can lift up my head because You are the Almighty One! Amen! © 2016 Edwina D. Perrin. All rights reserved. Psalms 3 3 Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. 2 Many are they who say of me, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah 3 But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. 4 I cried to the Lord with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah 5 I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me. 6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around. 7 Arise, O Lord; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly. 8 Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people. Don’t give up! Don’t throw in the towel! I know that it gets challenging sometimes. Burdens become too much to bear, but just hold on because you are closer to your breakthrough. You are not going to breakdown, but breakthrough! Breakthrough is coming for your:
Father, we declare and decree that we will not breakdown, but breakthrough! God is our refuge! We are going to wait on You because we are closing than we think. We are victorious and not victims. We are the head and not the tail. We are the lenders and not the borrowers. Father, You are our strength and portion. So we say Thank You! In Majestic Name of Jesus, Amen © 2016 Edwina D. Perrin. Jesus calls the fishermen to follow Him on the road. The challenge was not just to leave stability and a steady income, but to leave family behind as they followed Jesus. If you read verse 2o, you will read about James and John leaving their father with “hired” help to run the family business. When the disciples left their “comfort zone” they demonstrated that wealth, identity, or status was not worth the relationship they have with Jesus. The devotion title is “Are you a fan or a follower of Jesus?” Are you a fan when everything is going good and your children are doing well, but when trouble comes you lose your faith? Are you a fan when the worship music is playing and everyone is praising/worshipping, but as soon as the music stop your praise stop? Are you a follower of Jesus even when trouble arises and you continue to trust Him? During those trials, You trust Him when you can’t trace Him. Father, I am a follower because You know the plans You have for me! Amen Reflection Misery brings Ministry Trials brings Triumphs Test brings Testimonies © 2016 Edwina D. Perrin. And how bold and free we then become in his presence, freely asking according to his will, sure that he’s listening. And if we’re confident that he’s listening, we know that what we’ve asked for is as good as ours (The Message Bible; Eugene Peterson, 2002) In this piece of scripture about prayer, God promises to do three things. The three things are:
Father, We seek Your wisdom and the Holy Spirit guidance as we pray daily. God provide us with scripture that we may meditate on while You speak to us. The more we marinate in Your word the more we will understand Your ways. This we pray. Amen. Scripture Reflections Colossians 1:9-10 9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,[e] 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, James 1:5 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
