It's My Time!

It’s My Time
(Follow-up of My Disappointment Is Not My Destination May 5, 2014)

In May 2014, I had applied for several positions as Math Coach, Math Specialist, Instructional Coach, and Curriculum Coordinator only to be let down. There were several times I made to the final round of the interviews only to receive a rejection letter in the mail.

When disappointments take place in your life, they can overwhelm you and cause you to question your capabilities of being successful. However, we must remember Isaiah 55: 8, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord (KJV). Then in Jeremiah 29:11 God declares, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”(KJV).

Although I was not offered any of the previous jobs, God knew the plans He had for me.  In June 2015, God created and gave me the job He wanted me to have. He also blessed me with a wonderful co-worker and a phenomenal director.  I know it was God who created this position. I cannot express the many confirmations that God was in control.  I am tearing up just thinking about it.

When God says, “Yes” nobody can say “No”!

Heavenly Father,
Please help me to remember my disappointments are not my destinations to my future.  God forgive me for not trusting you.  You can do the impossible! When you do the impossible, You want us to see Your glory. I give You the glory, the honor, and praise.

In Jesus Name,
Amen!

Broken Levees

Broken Levees!

Psalm 115:11 “You who fear him, trust in the Lord, he is their help and shield” (NIV).

During 2005, one of the contributing factors to the flooding in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, were the failure of the levees. Levees are embankments that regulate water levels to prevent rivers from flooding. It is a man-made wall designed by engineers. If the levees break, then there is a great possibility the river will flood and cause many problems. The aftermath of a flood can be devastating. Sometimes during a flood, people lose their homes, lives, family members, and other valuable things.

Have you ever had your levees to break?  Have you ever felt as if your world was crumbling down? Just as the levees in New Orleans broke sometimes our levees break.  Trials, tribulations, or the death of a love one can cause one to feel broken and defeated. When our levees break, we often lose our joy, peace, and aspirations. You cry tears in the midnight hour wondering if God sees your pain. You lose sleep because you are pacing the floor praying for God to step in and rebuild your levees and restore your walls.

Psalm 115 tells us to trust in the Lord because He is our help and shield. The scripture also says that our God never sleeps nor slumbers. Therefore, you do not have to lose any sleep because God never leaves us or forsake us.  Therefore, trust that God is with you at all times.

Heavenly Father,

I thank you for always being here when I need you.  I am so glad you are a God that never sleeps.  Thank you for the many blessings you have stored upon my family.  God, in You I find a strong tower and a solid rock. God, I give you all the glory and honor.

In Jesus Name,

Amen

My Identity in Christ!

9/13/2015

Comments

Ephesians 2:10 “ For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (NIV).

What are some instances you lost your identity to be accepted by OTHERS?

OUCH!  That hurts!

When God created us, He created masterpieces.  Therefore, why do we allow people or things to define who we are? Perhaps, it is because we allow too many people speak negative things in our lives. We then carry those emotional scars around with us causing us to lose our identity.

Psalm 139:13-14 says, “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.” Everything that God created is good! Therefore, do not define your identity on “sinking” grounds.  Define your identity on the solid rock and the chief corner stone.  His name is Wonderful Counselor, the Great I Am, my Savior…JESUS!

Heavenly Father,

Forgive me for not remembering whose I am.  I embrace my identity in You. You created me and everything you created is good. God, strengthen me, wherever I am weak in.  You are my strength.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

I Am More Than...

9/6/2015

Romans 8:37 “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (NIV).

Merriam-Webster states, conqueror means to be victorious during an obstacle or opposition. Therefore, the scripture tells us that we are MORE than victorious during the opposition we are going through. To be more than a conqueror means before the problem arises, you have the power to defeat the problem with Christ.

Many quote this scripture without ever fully comprehending that whatever trial comes your way, you can overcome it through Christ. Having confidence and trust in Christ will give you the power to stand against anything the enemy attempts to use to destroy you. The scripture says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Repeated at least times in the bible).

Heavenly Father,

I will bury this word in my heart.  With it buried in my heart, it will be buried in my mind that I am more than whatever trial or tribulation come against me.  I stand on God’s word. God you said it, therefore I believe it.  I will stand boldly on your word. My trials will become my triumph. My test will become a testimony.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen
