A Heart of Humility
Romans 12:3 “For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgement, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you” (NIV). It is great to have a healthy self-esteem because some of us do not think enough of ourselves. However, some of us overestimate ourselves. People who overestimate themselves have identity problems and they are masking insecurities. People who think highly of themselves do not know their identity in Christ. In society, we tend to measure ourselves by our worldly possessions, success, or achievements. Measuring yourself by those things can cause you to think too much about your worth and not the blessings and the favor God has provided for you. Without God we cannot do anything or have anything. Give God the glory the next time He blesses you or show you favor in a circumstance. Everything belongs to Him anyway! Dear God, Remind me daily that You are my Jehovah-Jireh, My Provider, and that everything belongs to You. God, I thank You for every blessing You have provided and the ones You are going to provide. Help me to remain humble when receiving Your blessings and favor for Your name sakes. In the magnificent name of Jesus, Amen © 2015 Edwina D. Perrin. All rights reserved. Back to the Grind (Schools Back In)
Philippians 2:14-15 “ Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world” Heavenly Father, As parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, & guardians, give us strength to endure this school year. God we plead the blood over these 180 days of the 2015-2016 school year. Because school is back in session, the to- do-list will be longer. Homework, laundry, packing lunches, PTO meetings, commutes to extracurricular activities, science projects, and research papers to be typed. God, empower us to assist our children with their school work. God, we will seek you in the morning as a family. God let me not grumble because of my long to-do-list. Instead of complaining about the laundry, I will be thankful for the water to wash the laundry. Instead of complaining about preparing the lunches for school, I will be thankful for the food that we have. Instead of complaining about my children’s homework, I will be thankful for the knowledge that God has endowed in me to help my children. God, forgive me for complaining! I will enjoy this school year and praise God for the provisions He has bestowed upon my family to complete my to-do-list during the course of the year. Jesus we thank you in advance! Most Gracious Father, We come to plead the blood over every household that has children going to daycare, grade school, college, graduate school, or any university. We plead the blood over every educational institution in the world. We plead the blood over the teachers, care givers, principals, assistant principals, secretaries, teacher assistants, custodians, cafeteria workers, bus drivers, and any others that may come in contact with our children. As parents, we declare and decree blessings over our children lives this school year. There is no diabolical attack that can come against our children this school year that Jesus cannot handle. No peer pressure shall plague our children or oppress our children. Our children will walk in the boldness of Jesus. When their instructors see them, they will call them blessed. Their peers will call them blessed. Their coaches will call them blessed. Whatever our children hands touch will be prosperous. Wherever our children walk, the land will belong to them. Our children will put their focus on God and nobody else. Social media will not be a distraction to our children, but a means to share the blessings of God. As we rise early in the morning as a family, we will give God the praises for the new day. Together as a family, we will seek God to order our steps during day. Oh God, bend your ears to our prayers for our children as they return to their educational institutions. In Jesus Name, Amen! Pray with your children in the morning and at night before they go to bed. Teach your children what the scripture “No weapon formed against me shall prosper and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement thou shalt condemn” (KJV). In the name of Jesus, we rebuke any enemy that attempts to destroy their destiny. Copyright 2015 by Edwina Perrin. All rights reserved Heavenly Father,
As I rise early in the morning, I will sing praises unto you. I will rise with my mind on You. I will not check emails or any social media site before I talk to You. I will thank you for the hedge of protection You kept around my household. I will give thanks because I have a roof over my head and food to eat. God, I will rise early to hear Your voice. God, I will rise early to receive direction from You. Heavenly Father, I will not start my day without talking to You first. When I rise, I will exalt Your name and command my morning in Your name. I will speak life over my household’s day. I will rise early with a positive attitude. My positive attitude will be contagious and spread to whomever I come in contact with. When I rise, I will rise with You on my mind and I will magnify You all day! In Jesus Name, Amen Copyrighted 2015 by Edwina D. Perrin All rights reserved. |
