Exodus 15:26 "And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee" (KJV).
On September 2, 2013, I had a Transit Ischemic Attack (TIA). A Transit Ischemic Attack is what we call in laymen's terms a "mini-stroke". This all happen on Labor Day of 2013. A day I will never forget. My son and I were coming home from running an errand and I became paralyzed on my right side not being able to maneuver the steering wheel as I drove. As we drove home, my eyesight became blurred and my mouth began to twist. I drove myself to the ER as I dropped my son off at home. The TIA was bad enough for me to stay in the hospital for four days. Although, I suffered this TIA, I thank God daily for not suffering any permanent damage. I have small spot on the right side of my brain and I have about 75% ability to grip with my right hand. Occasionally, I have difficulty using my right hand, but I press on to do my best. You know God is a healer. He is Jehovah Rapha! I am witness. God is still healing me daily! Some mornings I wake-up numb on my right side, but I call on the name of Jesus and he touches my body. I began to cry the war cry and Jesus stops by. If you are experiencing any type of illness, then call on Jehovah Rapha. God created us and he knows the very hairs on our head. He knows every muscle, bone, tendon, and blood vessel in our body. When you call on him, he will restore you. We praise him for the restoration! God is the great physician. You do not need COBRA, Blue Shield Blue Cross, Cigna, or Tri-CARE. All you have to do is call on Jehovah and he will come and see about you. Dear God, I thank you! I praise for being the GREAT physician. I thank for your healing power! God I ask you to keep a healing touch over my life. It is in the Wonderful Counselor, the Great I AM, Jehovah Rapha we pray, AMEN! Copyrighted 2014 by Edwina D. Perrin. All rights reserved. "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33 NIV)
We see this everyday when we spend money to make purchases. On the back of the money, it says "In God We Trust", but do we really trust God. When trouble arises, many people entire demeanor changes. They will stop praising God, stop coming to church, stop attending Bible Study/Prayer Service, and some people will even stop communicating with family. The scripture clearly tells us that we will have trouble, but it also tells us that Jesus has overcome the world. After Jesus overcame the world, he told us that in the midst of our trials he will give us peace. When we are having financial troubles, we cannot say we trust God to resolve the problem, but we continue to worry about the financial woes. When we are having family problems, we cannot say we trust God to mend the family, but we talk about our family members behind their backs. In the middle of your hardships, God is still there. During our hardships, we must take our eyes off the problem at hand and look at what God is trying to minister to us. "In God We Trust"! God remind me of your promises when trouble arises. Dear God, Please forgive me when I become despondent because of my troubles and hardships. Help me to keep my eyes on you. Jesus you overcame the world when you took the cross for us and we thank you. Keep my mind in perfect peace. In the marvelous name of Jesus, Amen Copyrighted 2014 by Edwina D. Perrin. 27 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies; do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you" (NIV). At 8:37 on a Saturday morning, I answered a call and that's where the brutal words from the other end of the phone hurt me so bad, that I can began to tremble. After 3 minutes of listening to the harsh words and tone, I responded by telling the person I would call them back. As I write this devotion, I have yet to call back because my heart is overwhelmed and brutally hurt. However, I must forgive because God's word pray for those who mistreat you. During the era I grew up, there was a saying "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt." As I have grown into the woman that I am, I found that cliché to be misleading and untruth. Hurtful words and accusations are more brutal than a physical hit by the person. However, as I meditated on the words the person spoke to me, I realized that it was a spirit within them. As a woman of God, I have learned to call the spirit for what it is. When someone has hurt you, it is not them; it is a spirit within them. Whether it is a jealousy spirit, controlling spirit, mean spirit, lack of self-confidence spirit, or insecure spirit, just acknowledge the fact it is a spirit. It is a stronghold spirit that has taken a hold onto the person's mindset. Most people do not walk around intentionally hurting one another. Many times people whose words are hurtful and brutal it is because they are acting out of the hurt someone has done to them. They have internal issues that they need to deal with. When internal issues or past issues are not dealt with, they manifest to stronghold spirits. We, as a human race, must learn how to communicate with one another. It does not matter if it is your friends, family, spouse, or co-worker just pray for them when they mistreat you. Do not just pray for them, but pray for yourself. Ask God what part you played in receiving the brutal words. Dear God, Please help me to learn how to evaluate myself when people lash out at me. God, show me where I played a role into the situation. Teach me how to forgive when someone hurts me. God you forgive us daily for our wrong doing. We thank you for your grace and mercy. In Jesus Name, Amen! Copyrighted 2014 by Edwina D. Perrin. 10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord. 11 And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? 12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. 13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of theLord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. 14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. 15 And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: 16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. 17 And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen. 18 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen. 19 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them: 20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night. 21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. 22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. King James Version (KJV) Have you ever found yourself facing the challenges of life? God said, start celebrating because he is about to set you up for a blessing. He is about to give you back what the enemy stoled from you. He’s about to give the enemy a "TKO". TKO is a boxing term which means a Technical Knock Out. A TKO is where a boxer is considered the winner after knocking the opponent down three times. He's going to give a TKO to whatever has been disrupting your praise, stealing your joy, riding your back, chocking your neck, and making your life uncomfortable. The three times is one for the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. I don’t know what your Red Sea is, but know "It’s a Set Up"! In Exodus 14, the children of Israel found themselves in a desperate situation. They are trapped with nowhere to turn. There seems to be no way out. They are caught between the Pharaoh, his army, and the deep Red Sea! There are times in our lives when we feel like the children of Israel, experiencing a Red Sea episode in our lives: Financial Problems, Family Problems, and Health Issues. God told me to tell you there is more to this than meets the eye. He told me to tell you that "It's a Set Up". He told me to tell you that what looks like the worst circumstances you’ve ever faced in your life is getting ready to thrust you into new glory, a brand new anointing, a new level of faith and power beyond anything that you have ever experienced before. Dear God, I thank you for my Red Sea experiences because it draws me closer to you. God, in your word you stated, "I am more than a conqueror" and I walk in authority because of your word. Although I may be having a Red Sea experience, you are in the midst. You are the Sovereign God and the Almighty God; therefore I will trust you during my Red Sea experience.
