2 Corinthians 3:17 (NIV)
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. This upcoming week all across America people will be decorating picnic tables, cooking on the grills, shooting fireworks, and entertaining friends and family. We will be celebrating Independence Day also known as Fourth of July. The fourth of July memorializes the date that the original thirteen colonies declared their freedom from the Kingdom of Great Britain by adopting the Declaration of Independence. The text above is refers through the Holy Spirit, God provides freedom from sin and condemnation. According to Romans 8:1-2 (NIV), therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. When you trust Jesus Christ, we are loved, forgiven, and freed to live for Him. When we trust Christ to save us, He takes all of our heavy burdens that are weighing us down and robbing us of our freedom. Give your burdens to Jesus Christ and watch the fireworks of blessings pour out over your life. Heavenly Father, I love the independence I received when I surrendered my life to you. You are my rock and fortress! I can bring all my heavy burdens to you and experience the freedom from guilt and shame. Jesus I thank you for losing your independence for me to have freedom. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (NIV).
Neckties, shirts, socks, shoes, grills, and even power tools were all given as gifts for Father’s Day. These items were given to show appreciation to dads across the country. Some children cooked breakfast. Some children cooked dinner or even cooked on the grill for their dad. No matter what was done to show dads how much they are appreciated, dads across America enjoyed their day. Although we shower our earthly dads with gifts, we must show that same love to our Heavenly Father daily. He gave his only begotten Son so we would have eternal life. God loved us so much He gave us his ONLY son! Jesus died on the cross for you and me and we should show gratitude daily for Calvary. We can show our love by reading and studying God’s word, praying, attending Church School, attending Bible Study, feeding the homeless, volunteering our time, and worshiping God. These are not just a list for us as adults, however these are actions we should share and engage our children with. Sitting as family and reading God’s word is the best family time spent together. Spend time talking to your family about Jesus going to Calvary’s Hill. This is the best gift you could give to your Father! Dear Heavenly Father, Happy Father’s Day! I am so glad you are my Father. God, when my earthly parents do not understand I can talk to You. I can come to You just I am and You will hear my cry and comfort my heart. My gift to You is to worship and adore You daily. “Trust in the Lord with all thy heart, and lean not to your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your path (NKJV).” Dear Heavenly Father, There are some things that are going on in my life that I do not understand. Although I can’t trace You in the situations, I trust You. I trust that You will handle these situations and they will work out for my good. I trust You because You are the creator of this world. I trust You because You are Jehovah Jireh. I trust You because You are not a God that will lie. God, I have to remember the scripture Romans 10:17. “So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ (NLT).” God this means, I can’t look at the situation, but only listen to your voice. When hear your voice, I know that You are near me and protecting me. God, I draw near You because You are El Shaddi, the Lord God Almighty. You are El Elyon, the most high God. When I need a word from You, I look to the hills which cometh my help and all my help comes from You. God you are a sovereign God. In my mountains and valleys, I can’t trace You, but I trust You. I know that all things will work out for my God. I thank you God! I worship and adore You. I will magnify You! You are the chief cornerstone. You are my refuge and strength. In Jesus Name, Amen. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:2, KJV).
Conforming to the world is hazardous to your spiritual life. Conforming to the world does not allow you to experience the blessings that God has for you and your household. If you want to experience God’s glory in your life, renew your mind daily with God’s word. The purpose of renewing your mind is for God to fill you with a fresh anointing. Renewing your mind starts with reading and studying God’s word daily, attending Bible Study, attending Church School, and Vacation Bible School. Studying God’s word daily is a spiritual act of worship and a means to show gratitude to God for all He has done in your life. When a transformation takes place, you become a new person. Your walk is different. Your talk is different. Your friends change and sometimes become few in numbers. 2 Corinthians 5: 17 (KJV), “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Heavenly Father, My life is being transformed daily with Your help. God you are my rock and my fortress. God create in me a clean a heart so I can experience Your glory daily. In Jesus name, Amen! Copyrighted 2015 by Edwina D. Perrin All rights reserved. |
