Ephesians 4:32
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
1 Corinthians 12:8
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

As I parked my car at the doctor’s office, the lady parking next to me got out of her car with a look of despondency. While getting out my car and proceeding to walk into the building, I noticed we were walking into the same building.  I could tell she was distressed about something.  It was then, the Holy Spirit nudged me to speak and ask her how she was doing.
Conversation:
Me: “How are you doing?”
Her: “Uggghh!”
Me: “What number?”
Her: “Two.” (with a loud sigh afterwards)
Me (still be led by the Holy Spirit): I silently whispered a prayer for her spirit to be lifted.
Me (still be led by the Holy Spirit): Remained silently.

Once the elevator stopped, we both entered the same doctor office.  However, I stopped to check in, but she walked to the back of the office. I proceeded to check in, complete my paperwork, and take a seat.  Then suddenly, I heard my name. As I gathered my things to rise from my seat, I realized that it was the lady from the elevator.  While walking to the back of the office, she began to talk about her day.
She share that the office had been dealing with computer network issues all day and it was making her day long. As she talked, I listen.  She then turned and said, “Thanks for listening to me as I vent. I really needed it.” I kindly said, “You are welcome.”

I would like to two points here:
  1. In everything we do, allow the Holy Spirit to guide us.
  2. Sometimes we just need to listen.

Heavenly Father,
Fill me with the Holy Spirit daily so that I may do the mission you have called me to do.
In Jesus name,
Amen!

Spiritual Fit

5/17/2016

Comments

I recently started back working out to improve my health.  As I was walking, I remembered this devotion I had written in 2014. As I was walking, I realized tha not only do I need to work on my phyical fitness daily, but daily I need to work on spiritual fitness to grow closer to God.  Therefore, I decided to do a repost this week.

Hebrews 12:12-13
12 Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13 “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed (NIV).
We, as Americans, spend millions of dollars to become physically fit. We join expensive gyms, fitness centers; retain personal trainers and dieticians, and commit to a personal plan to become physically fit. Many people even invest money in cosmetic surgeries to enhance their physical features. We spend hours and hours trying to lose weight to look perfect.
However, how much are we investing to become Spiritual Fit? Are we tithing? Are we attending Bible Study? Are we attending Prayer Service? Have we souled out to God just like we have souled out to become physically fit? Do we meditate and spend time with God? Do we have a relationship with God?
Being physically fit is great, but being spiritually fit is amazing. God’s amazing grace will set you free from the chains of sins and diabolical attacks that come against you.  Being spiritual fit will allow you stand against the wiles of the enemy (Ephesians 6:11).  If you want to become spiritually fit, develop a relationship with God and watch the amazing things God will do in your life.
Here are a few suggestions to become Spiritually Fit:
  1.  Pray continuously
  2.  Study the Word
  3.  Show gratitude
  4. Always show love and compassion
  5. Attend some type of study (Prayer Service, Sunday School, etc.)
  6. Worship God
  7. Adore God
  8. Praise Him
  9. Let you attitudes and actions be Christ-like
Dear God,
I thank you for being an AWESOME God. I strive daily to walk closer with You.  God, create in me a clean heart and transform me to be Spiritually Fit to stand firm against any attack the enemy tries to throw at me. I claim dominion and authority in Your name over any assignment that tries to frustrate me.  I thank You God.
In Jesus name,
Amen!

Almighty and Everlasting Father, we come this day lifting up every mother across this land.  We are honored You chose us to be mothers to the children that belong to You. God, we thank You for providing us with the strength and knowledge to care for our children.  We cherish every moment of every day we spend with our children.

God we thank You for leading and guiding us as mothers as we raise our children. God continue to fill every mother with love, strength, endurance, and wisdom. God give us the ability to forgive when our children do wrong or disappoint us.  God we will rely on You and only You.  You are the sovereign God and there is none like You.

In Jesus precious name,
Amen

Heavenly Father,

I wanted to take a moment to pray for everyone that will read this devotion.  You love us more than we will ever know. You love us and protect us when we don’t even realize it. God, I pray that everyone will develop an understanding about the love You have for Your people. You love us when we don’t even love You back. You love us when You tell us to go right, but we go left. God open our minds to study and understand You better. Open our ears to hear You better.  Open our hearts to accept Your love better. We thank You for all of the blessings You have provided for us and will continue to provide for us.

In the Mighty Name of Jesus,
 Amen
