Psalm 119:11“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”
How many of us are equipped to do the job, but fail to use the tools from the toolbox? How many of us are equipped with anointing, but refuse to operate in our anointing? · Because we cannot lead every song we will refuse to sing on the choir · Because we cannot be the head usher we will refuse to operate in the usher ministry One of the main tools in the toolbox is the B-I-B-L-E. How are often do we take time to read, study, or meditate on God’s word. The reason some of us are not equipped is because our toolbox does have the correct equipment. · Some of our toolbox are filled with selfishness instead servanthood. We want God to do for us, but we do not want to visit the sick, mission work, or volunteer work. Matthew 25:40 says that when you have done to the least of my brother you done it to me. · Some our toolboxes contains negativity rather positivity. Proverbs 18:21 says there is life and death in the power of the tongue. · Some of our toolboxes contain a whining spirit instead of a worshipping spirit. We will whine about the church service. It’s hot! It’s cold! We will watch the time. We cannot to come to Church School complaining it’s too early, but yet we will get up at 5:00 on Saturday to catch the one day sale at the local department store. Psalms103 “Bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within in me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord oh my soul, and forget not his benefits.” · Does your toolbox have an instigating spirit or intercessory spirit? Every time you come around it is drama. Always some type of mess. Keeping things stirred up. 1st Corinthians 14:33 “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” Study Judges 6:24… it tells us that God is Jehovah Shalom. He is our God of Peace. See an intercessor would not be a part of that drama. See Ephesians 6:18, “With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints.” See when you are intercessor you are praying for others. You are praying for friends, family, co-workers, and so on. The one thing about an intercessor nobody knows your name or who you are. You cry out on the behalf of others without them even knowing about it. The greatest intercessor is Jesus Christ. See when the word is deeply rooted in your heart you will: · Love your enemies when they do you wrong · Empower one another instead of being envious of one another · Encourage one another instead discouraging one another · Celebrate one another instead of criticizing each other Therefore, I ask you, “What’s in your toolbox?” Heavenly Father, I desire for you to be in my heart and to be rooted in your word. God, I need you and your word daily. I will make it a priority to communicate with you throughout my day. I cannot live without you. In Jesus name, Amen! Copyrighted 2015 by Edwina D. The word “W-A-I-T” seems to be an offensive word in today’s society. We have become an instant, fast, quick, want it now society. We live in an "instant society" of fast food, instant information on demand, pay-at-the-pump gasoline, and the "buy now pay later" philosophy which has been the downfall of many families. If you want to know the latest news, you do not have watch the evening news, just check Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. We can even talk to family members across the world using Skype or FaceTime. God has a purpose and plan for our life. His timing is not our timing, but his timing perfect. We pray sometimes He answers our prayers with “yes” or “no”. But there are some times, He says “not now”. When this is the case, we can avail ourselves of the rich rewards that come when we wait. Don’t get weary in your walk, but wait on him. · While you are waiting, serve the Lord. · While you are waiting, praise the Lord. · While you are waiting, worship the Lord. · While you are waiting, pray. · While you are waiting, fast. · Wait on him, for God will take care of you. Heavenly Father, Please give me patience to wait on You and to allow You to direct my path. God, You created me and You know what I need and do not need. God, help me keep my mind on You and only you. In Jesus Name, Amen! Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you” (NIV).
Today is an exciting day for my 15 year old son. Someone thought enough to bless him with a ticket to a PRESTIGIOUS golf tournament. This golf tournament is known around the world. This is a moment that he will savor forever. When he is older with children and grandchildren, he will surely remember this momentous day. The bible instructs us that we should be a blessing to others daily. In Genesis 12:2, God states, “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.” God told Abram this in the beginning to bless others and he would take care of his needs. In blessing others, God will provide for us abundantly. The more you bless people the more God will dispense back into your life. In Luke 6:38 it states, “Give, and it will be given unto you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured in your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” This not only means financially, however the blessing could be sane mental health, great physical health, peaceful home, joyful home, peaceful relationships, and a peaceful job. As my Pastor often says, you cannot out give God. Reflect over the scripture Malachi 3:10 “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it (NIV).” God is telling us to test him when it comes to blessings. As you begin your week, find someone to bless. However, remember when you bless them you do not have to boast or brag about it. Imitate Jesus as he blessed with humility (Philippians 2). Heavenly Father, I desire to be a blessing to others. I desire to give until it hurts. You have been so good to me and I cannot do anything but share. When I give, I remember how you gave us your only son in order for us to have eternal life. Thank you God! In the marvelous and majestic name of Jesus, Amen © 2015 by Edwina D. Perrin. Mark 16:1-14 Luke 24: 1-49 John 20: 1-23 1 Corinthians 15: 1-58 The texts listed above talks about the Resurrection of Jesus. Oh what a great morning it was for us when Jesus rose from the dead. We often celebrate Easter with new clothes, Easter baskets, Easter egg hunts, Easter programs, and Easter candy. However, Easter is about the risen life of Jesus. Easter is about Jesus hanging on the cross, dying, and getting up with ALL power in His hands. Jesus conquered death so that we would have eternal life. Whenever you get a moment, read the scriptures from above, and reflect on how different stories are shared about the resurrection of Jesus. However, they all share the same ending. JESUS GOT UP FROM THE GRAVE! Heavenly Father, As I reflect over the cross, I have no time for NEGATIVE THOUGHTS, NEGATIVE BEHAVOIR, or NEGATIVE PEOPLE IN MY LIFE. When thinking about the cross, we will celebrate the goodness of Jesus and how he conquered death on our behalf. Lord, help me remember the CROSS daily. In mighty name of Jesus, Amen Reflection: Easter is only mention in the bible one time (Acts 12:4). Copyrighted 2015 by Edwina D. Perrin. All rights reserved. |
