Psalm 95: 2-3 “Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods” (NIV).
The echoes of loud screams and roars through the atmosphere made everyone stop on the golf course stop to see what all of the excitement was. I leaped from the golf cart to explore all of the action. All I could see was my son and his dad running towards the hole screaming and giving each other high fives. The parents of the opponents were smiling and celebrating as if he was there child. However, it was my son who had made a hole-in-one on hole number three at “Jehovah Country Club”. My son was so excited, but not too excited to give God praises. He thanked God rest of the night! My son always prays before ever taking the golf clubs out of the car. It is not that he’s reminded of this sacred moment. He does this without parental supervision. At the age of 14, my son is not ashamed of the gospel. I am so thankful that at an early age he learned about Christ the Savior and accepted him as his Savior. I will not be ashamed of the GOSPEL. I will praise God wherever I am. If someone has a problem with the way I praise God, then shame on them. For the scripture Luke 19:40 declares, "I tell you," he replied, "if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out” (NIV). I do not want a rock crying out for me because God has been too good to me. He has been too good for me to keep my mouth closed. Heavenly Father, I will praise your name no matter where I am. You have been good to my household and we will forever praise your name. I will praise your name in my triumphs and through my trials. In Jesus’ name, AMEN! Reflection: Do not be ashamed of the GOSPEL! If someone has a problem with your excitement for God, asked them did they hang on the cross for you. Copyrighted 2015 by Edwina D. Perrin. All rights reserved. Psalm 16:8 “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken” (NIV).
Psalm 62:8 “Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge” (NIV). Oh my God! I can’t find my red thumb drive with all my materials for my devotion blog ministry. As I emptied out my purse, there was no red thumb drive in sight. I dug through my “teacher bag” and there was no red thumb drive. However, I remained calm and stayed positive. I looked under the kitchen table. I searched in my office and there was no thumb drive in sight. After searching for two hours, I began to panic and started to get sick to my stomach. I took a deep breath and decided to run an errand. My errand was to go church (where I am member) to drop off some information. As I entered into the church, three Sisters of the church asked what was wrong me. I began to explain how I had misplaced my red thumb drive that housed ALL of my ministry materials. The three Sisters of the church began to speak positive and power thoughts to me. They never once said a negative word. As I was listening to them, I began to listen to God as He spoke to me. He said, “Take your eyes off of the “red” thumb drive and put them back on Me”! The Great I am! As I drove home, God began to talk louder and louder to me. Upon pulling in the garage, God lead me back to the places I had already looked and emptied out. He said, “Take out everything in your “teacher bag” and go back through the papers again. It was there! The “red” thumb drive was wedged between the stack of papers inside the bag. I began to rejoice and praise God. When I praised God, He responded with a worship experience. The worship experience was so awesome that I began to weep. After worshipping with God, I texted the three Sisters and thank them for the deposit of positive and powerful thoughts. Reflection: Even in the small things, I must trust Him! Lord, No matter what I need, I will trust You! Amen! Copyrighted 2015 by Edwina D. Perrin. All rights reserved. Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe” (KJV).
Fortified means to strengthen or protect with defensive mechanisms against attacks. When trials and tribulations come up against you, know that you are in a fortified place with God on your side. The writer said the Lord is a strong tower and that we can run to Him and be safe. No matter what comes your way you are safe in the arms of God. When you are in a fortified place with God, the streets around you are called: Strong Tower Drive, Praise Street, Glory Street, Hallelujah Avenue, Thank You Jesus Boulevard, Holy Spirt Road, Have Mercy Street, More Than A Conqueror Shopping Plaza, Prayer Drive, Patience Road, and the Interstate is called I-3; one for the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. To be in a fortified place with God you have to have a fortified mind. To fortify your mind in Christ: study the bible, attend bible study, attend church school, pray, fast, and submit to God’s will. Lord, I know I am in a fortified place with You in my life. Whatever storm may rise in my life, I know that you are a strong tower and I can run to you. Amen! Copyrighted 2015 by Edwina D. Perrin. Have you ever been around people and everything that comes out of their mouth is negative? They have nothing good to say about anything or anybody. It is as if they are not happy with themselves. Their language is fouled and their spirit is depressing. Hanging around these types of people can be poisonous to you, your health, your spirit, and your character. Here is a statement I heard all my life from my mom, “Who you associate with, will be who you assimilate after”. I was in my late 20’s before I understood what that meant. If you hang around people who are broke all the time, then you will be broke all the time. If you hang around people who love chaos and confusion, then you will begin to be involved in chaos and confusion. If you hang around people who are selfish, you will start to behave the same way. However, if you hang around people who talk about the blessings of Jesus, then you will talk about the blessings of Jesus. If you surround yourself around people with positive attitudes, you will have a positive attitude. If you are surrounded by people that are not headed in the route you are going, then you need to reevaluate who you are hanging around. Simply stated, “Watch your surroundings”! Often time, people have ulterior motives for you because they can see the anointing on your life. If you want positive things to happen in your life, hang around positive people. Hang around people that are going to make you flourish, bloom, and prosper. Surround yourself with people who will use their tongues astutely and sensibly. Encamp yourself with people who will pray with you and not pray against. Heavenly Father, Strengthen my discerning spirit to distinguish between spirituality and carnality. God endow in me a discerning spirit that I can see things in the spiritual realm. God I desire to have a spiritual mind to operate in your kingdom. God release anything or anybody that is not headed the direction I am headed. My goal is to be caught up when you crack the sky. In Jesus’ Name, Amen! Copyrighted 2015 by Edwina D. Perrin.
