Heavenly Father,
I will stand on Your word. You are my rock and fortress. God, without You, I cannot do anything. I will trust You. I will praise You. I will worship You. I adore You. Thank You for sending Your only begotten Son for my sins. Thank You and I will give You the glory and honor. In Jesus Name, Amen! Scripture References (New American Standard Bible) Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Matthew 11:28-29 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 1 John 2:25 This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life. Luke 18:27 But He said, "The things that are impossible with people are possible with God." Psalm 34 I sought the LORD, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears. ©2016 by Edwina Perrin. 6 Therefore say to the children of Israel: ‘I am the Lord; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. 7 I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that Iam the Lord your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. 8 And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and I will give it to you as a heritage: I am theLord.’ God’s chosen people, the Israelites, did not feel like His chosen people after years of living as slaves to the Egyptians. However, God had made a covenant with Israel and God ALWAYS keep His word. God is a God that cannot lie (Numbers 23:19). Blessings delayed are not blessings denied. Blessing come on God’s timing. We simply have to trust and have the faith that God will do what He said He would. The word says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6, NKJV). On Christ the solid rock I will stand! Heavenly Father, I will trust You no matter what I am going through. You are El Shadi! God Almighty! Nothing is too hard for You. God, I will trust You at all times. In Jesus Name, Amen! ©2016 by Edwina Perrin. All rights reserved. This devotion is written to help you understand how God truly cares through His names. This is a small list of names we often call God.
Jehovah-Jireh: The Lord our provider (Genesis 22:12-14). This name means whatever you need God will see to your need being provided for. Jehovah-Rapha: The Lord our healer (Exodus 15: 22-26). This name means whatever illness or disease you have God can heal it with just one touch. Jehovah-Nissi: The Lord our banner (Exodus 17:15). Whatever battles you may be dealing with, invite God in and watch Him demonstrate the strength of Jehovah-Nissi. Jehovah-Shalom: The Lord our peace (Judges 6:24). If you are in distress, turn to Jehovah-Shalom and allow Him to give your rest. El Shaddi: God Almighty (Genesis 17:1, 2). This means that God can do anything. He has ALL power. El Elyon: The Most High (Genesis 14:20). This name represents His sovereignty and supremacy. El Roi: The God who sees (Genesis 16:13). This means that God sees everything we are going through. Heavenly Father, Thank you for being everything to me. There is nobody greater than You! In Jesus Name, Amen! ©2016 by Edwina Perrin. This scripture clearly tells us that we cannot believe everything that we hear. Everything that is professed of God is not of God. Having a discern spirit is valuable to your walk in life. You cannot believe everything that has a prophetic voice. Everyone that prophesies into your life has not been given the authority by God. God’s truth is constantly under attack and must be guarded. In 1st Timothy Chapter 6, Paul gives Timothy instructions on keeping guard of what he has been entrusted with. In other words, you must guard God’s word because He has left His word with us. Your discerning spirit will let you know who is prophesying in God’s name or their name. Often times, the enemy uses this tactic to become evolved in your business. This is often the hand of the enemy. The enemy comes except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Therefore, be aware of counterfeits that will use these words, “I have a word for you from the Lord.” OR “The Lord told me to tell you.” As the scripture says, test the spirit to see whether it is from God. Heavenly Father, Please endow in me Your word that I may have a discerning spirit. Endow in me a discerning spirit that will recognize “wolves in sheep clothing” and false prophets. God, strengthen your hedge of protection around me. I claim a discerning spirit that I may recognize your voice. In Jesus Name, Amen! ©2016 by Edwina Perrin.
