Scripture Reading: Luke 1:26-38
In this text, Gabriel comes to tell Mary that she has been shown favor by God to be impregnated with the Messiah, Jesus, the Wonderful Counselor, the Prince of Peace. In the beginning, Mary had a hard time believing Gabriel. Mary actually was frightened by the appearance of Gabriel.
Mary was a virgin and was not married. Mary was from Nazareth. This is a town known for their sins. Mary was not special in anyway, but God used Mary for his plans.
God chose Mary to bring forth Jesus, the risen Savior. The point of this text is let you know that God can use anyone he wants to as a part of his plan. His ultimate plan is to get the GLORY. He has no respectable person.
In verse 37 (KJV), “For with God nothing shall be impossible” and we know that to be the gospel. God can use the alcoholic, whoremonger, liar, robber, or whomever to spread the good news. He uses the ones who will humble him and respect His word.
We thank you for your favor. We thank you for sending your favor to the one who believes and worships you. God help us to have the Mary spirit to be a willing vessel to carry out your plan for you to get the glory.
In Jesus’s Name,
