Stop, Look, & Listen

Psalm 46:10 New King James Version (NKJV)

 “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”

“Let’s go! Hurry! Hurry up!  Stop wasting time! I am running late! We have to go!” We all are guilty of using these statements when we are rushing or perhaps on a “mission”.

We have let society and our lifestyles encourage us to rush at every task we have to complete. The rushing causes bad attitudes, unnecessary stress, bitterness, and unnecessary health problems.  Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will” (NIV).

I am guilty of rushing and hurrying to accomplish a goal or completing a task.  However, I thank God for whispering in my ear one day.  He said, “Since you will not slow down, I am going to lay you down”. One weekend, I could not get out the bed because I was sick with the Flu.  The sickness came out of nowhere.  I had no prior symptoms.  As I laid in my bed sick, God began to minister to me with the scripture from Psalm 46:10 and the Psalm 23.  He began to instruct me to “Stop, Look, & Listen.”

· Stop rushing and begin to bask in my glorious work I have done in your life.

· Look at the beautiful Earth I created

· Listen for my voice “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27 NIV).

We can no longer allow the spirit of rushing dominate our lives. We must claim dominion and authority over that stronghold. When we find ourselves rushing and hurrying, Stop, Look, & Listen.

Dear God,
When I begin to rush and hurry to complete tasks, touch my spirit to slow me down.  I just want to be closer to you, therefore removed the spirit of rushing because I want to enjoy Your presence.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
